Winter is fast coming upon us and start times are up for discussion again, personal I do not like a 8am start it is still dark! Half an hour later makes much more sense but it is getting enough people to agree with this the roll up is entirely voluntary and anyone wanting to start earlier or later are free to do so. This happens now with some teeing off before and a group teeing off later, it would be nice if we could all tee off together .

I agree, 8.30 would be a better time to start in the winter months!

Yeah I agree 08.30 would suit me better, however in the winter months When the clocks go back. the 11.30 roll up is brought forward to 11.00. I know we should be all through by 11am, but if there is a few of us ( as today there were 24 of us) and the last 4 ball don't get off till say 09.00 then lets say, they are a bit slow, they could clash with the 11 o'clock boys.
Also there will be some members who want to play early ( as there are now) assuming they will still play early once the clocks go back. some will still play at 08.00 and then those who want to play at 08.30. it becomes fractional and disjointed, not in the spirit of the seniors ethos.

We have this debate every year and always end up back at 8.00. We went back to 8.30 a couple of years ago and most players were there at 8.00 anyway ! We did vote on the matter at the last AGM and agreed 8.15 in the end and perhaps that is a reasonable compromise.

I would like to see the Winter roll up time put back to 0830 .I can't see the point of teeing off in the dark

I don’t mind starting at 8.30 but if we do then I would like to see the 8.30 to at least 9.00 slot shown in the clubs online tee times diary for Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The clocks go back so it is lighter in the mornings ! I have never teed off in the dark at 8.00.

Another point to consider is people travelling would have time to see if the course is open, the computer and phone is not updated early enough if you are starting out at 7.30am as most Immingham members will be doing,an 8.30 start would enable checks to take place, fog rain and frost sometimes closes the course at short notice ie. on the day and not the night before.

Robin Is correct to say that this subject has all the hallmarks of brexit however by following a democratic path we could easily resolve matters by Oct 31st , I would suggest the path to this is as follows. 1.draw up bespoke list of members who participate in roll up. 2.produce on line voting paper. 3.request each member votes for their preferred time, stating any non votes would be entered as don’t minds. 4.allow result of vote to be transparent to all members. 5.implement from 1st nov.finally, I do not think this is a matter for the committee to make based on some expressed views when we can take a defined democratic route. regards to all readers Colin Gibson

I can send a survey out using SurveyMonkey asking the following questions: Do you play in the Senior roll ups? Yes / No, if no why not? What time would you like the the summer roll up to start? 8.00am/8.15am/8.30am What time would you the winter roll up to start? 8.00am/8.15am/8.30am

I don’t know how many paid up senior members there are but you can guarantee that not all will log onto this site, I don’t therefore see how you can assume that those who don’t vote don’t mind which time is chosen.

I sent 105 emails out about the website and so far 92 have been read, in that 105 there were a few duplicates so I can say that the vast majority of the seniors have read it. That’s why I said I could sent a survey out by email, if required??

Will a 52% in favour be enough? Peter
