Hi Robin & Co
1. I’m a little bit surprised that you and the Committee have made such an autocratic decision, Roll -ups on Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be a strictly 'golf only' activity with immediate effect. We will meet outside the golf club as usual and select teams in the usual way. On completion of the round we will disperse immediately without meeting in the clubhouse at all. Players should try to keep at a safe distance and avoid personal contact.
whereas the club. Is business as usual (according to the club president Dr John Harris Just a few minutes ago)
I fail to see the benefit (in my opinion)of such a knee-jerk reaction which applies only to our Senior section. If your decision is in light of the Governments recommendation that people over 70 years remain indoors, then arguably, “should anyone over 70 actually be there at all”. Which I strictly do not advocate by the way. What about the midday roll-up? Are they doing the same?, I imagine a lot of those players are over 70
I do agree with you, that demonstrating sensible behaviour regarding contact, keeping a safe distance etc is a good idea, but as to the above. No!
Until either the club closes, facilities close or I decide myself. I for one, will not be doing the above. I will continue to use the locker room facilities, toilets, hand-washing and coffee facilities as normal
Kind regards
Peter

Hot off then press
In relation to the golf course we recommend:
1. Leaving the flag stick in and not to remove it
2. Don’t lick your golf balls
3. Don’t handle other players’ balls or equipment
4. Cough into your elbow
5. Substitute the customary handshake or kiss with an elbow knock
6. Wash your hands immediately after play and before entering the bar

I for one have to be more careful as I am over 70, it’s not just me however as my wife has Lupus so is more vulnerable. in fact I did have a think last night whether or not to rejoin but then I calculated that my chances of being drawn with Grimesey every week were quite low so I paid up.😂 Probably will miss tomorrow as still recovering from the dash back from Spain but will probably turn up on Friday.

We all have to do what we think is best for us and those close to us.

Hi Pete
The recommended time is 7 days but we have been more than that by being in the Camper travelling home and we came from a region that was virus free. If we use the strategy laid out in Robins email them I believe that we can carry on and enjoy the fresh air.
Regards
Mike
